'Beyond the Mammogram'

Orange Coast Memorial Foundation and The Vince Ferragamo Foundation present 'Beyond the Mammogram.'

_CallieBiggerstaff-4786.jpg A beautiful beach setting for an Evening of Empowerment and Education as Dr. Richard Reitherman and Dr. Nancy Cappello tag team to discuss breast health, dense breasts and breast cancer screening.  The Evening began with a Reception, overlooking the Pacific in Huntington Beach, California.

Health care Providers, Breast Cancer Survivors and Orange Coast Residents listened as Dr. Cappello told  her common story of missed cancer by mammogram because of dense breast tissue.  Her advanced cancer diagnosis and subsequent advocacy, which began in her home state of Connecticut, fueled a grassroots movement across the globe.

Dr. Richard Reitherman discussed the impact of dense breast tissue on the reliability of the mammogram and adjunct screening for women with dense breast tissue.
