Dr. Cappello Receives The Soroptimist Ruby Award

Dr. Nancy Cappello was the guest speaker at the Award's Celebration along with being this year's honoree for the prestigious Ruby Award presented by the Waterbury Area of Soroptimist. "This award goes to a woman who inspires others and is doing extraordinary work in women's issues," said Ruth Avitabile, chair of the committee. "Dr. Cappello's remarkable story of her advanced stage cancer and her pursuit of equality in early detection for women with dense breast tissue has made a significant impact on the lives of women everywhere."

The award was presented to Dr. Cappello on April 21 at 6 pm at the Southbury Library.
