Dr. Nancy Cappello Named Litchfield County Times' Person of The Year

Douglas Clement, Executive Editor of the Litchfield County Times (2010 Newspaper of the Year) announces that the Litchfield County Times (LCT) has named Dr. Nancy Cappello as Person of the Year.

Mr. Clement writes "Back in 2004, on a Tuesday when the stock market yawned, the British launched an inquiry into the events prompting the invasion of Iraq and seven states held Mini-Tuesday presidential primaries or caucuses, Dr. Cappello was contemplating a far weightier matter: the delivery of those three “dreaded” words, “You have cancer."  It was the start of an odyssey that, apart from a difficult, painful medical journey, would result in an advocacy effort like no other to improve the prospects for women who have dense breast tissue, a circumstance that masks the presence of breast cancer in mammograms."
